Building Neuro-affirmative Listening Spaces
2 hour online Workshop Oct 12th.

This is a practical and experiential two hour taster workshop facilitated by Jenny Rose Smith and Abi Denyer-Bewick.

We will be exploring how to create spaces where particpants:

  • Can engage whilst taking care of themselves;

  • Learn to navigate the tension between safety and self-responsibility

  • Have choice, comfort and confidence in being able to express their needs and their unique ways of knowing and experiencing.

During the session we will identify what the principles of offering these kind of spaces might be. as well as turning honestly towards the meeting place between our care and commitment with our own needs and limitations as facilitators.

Abi and Jenny brings decades of experience of facilitating groups across a diverse range of settings as well both having developed specialisms in their work.

Abi brings seasonal and cyclical intelligence to her work of supporting people's journeys through shame and towards dignity. Jenny has developed an approach to sensitive and skilful listening that reduces the risk of burnout, and instead supports listening to be sustainable and enjoyable for the long term.

Both of us identify as people with sensitive nervous systems. Abi had undiagnosed ADHD from childhood and was diagnosed as AuDHD 5 years ago. Jenny defines herself as sensitive, a deep feeler and a slow processor.

Standalone workshop ~ sliding scale £40-£80 choose the level that is right for you.

If you have any questions or would like to chat anything about this through with us please email Jenny on jennyrosesmith123@gmail.com or Abi on menstrualmedicine@gmail.com

~ How might we create and facilitate listening spaces where everyone with feels able to meaningfully engage and take part?

~ What are the conditions that help to make this realistic and possible in spaces that include people who are neurodivergent?
